FEMINIST MOVEMENT and AWARENESS MONTH
To Whom It May Concern:
The UNH Womyn’s Club would like to create a “Feminist Movement Building Month" during the month of October 2010. The month’s events will be rooted in defining and stopping all forms of sexual violence under the pornographic mindset and patriarchal society.
The goal is for the UNH student body and other student bodies to create a community that speaks out against sexual violence and pornography, does not accept sexual violence and is committed to ending sexual violence. A forum will be created that is to provide UNH students, staff and faculty the opportunity to build a foundation of awareness and activism focused on ending sexual violence in a porn culture and under a patriarchy.
In looking to end sexual violence in a porn culture and under a patriarchy we must all work in collaborative ways not limited by hierarchy or greed. We must work together to build prevention methods and general awareness.
Activists, researchers, speakers, authors, survivors, sisters and allies from New England and around the country are invited to strengthen our awareness and to fuel the movement to end porn culture.
The UNH Womyn’s Club is the main sponsor of Feminist Movement Building/Awareness Month.
